| L'idea di fare un sito istituzionale per Sandro Martini nasce da una conversazione con l'amica Rita, in una calda sera d'estate su un volo che da Roma ci portava, stanche, a Milano... Dopo un paio di incontri esplorativi tra Sandro e Marco abbiamo iniziato a lavorare al progetto, con l'idea di realizzare un sito che fosse un punto di riferimento per l'arte di Sandro Martini e allo stesso tempo un punto di incontro tra Sandro e tutti quelli che, collezionisti o semplici curiosi, fossero interessati ad aprire un dialogo con l'Artista. Consci dell'impossibilità di contenere l'opera di un pittore in un media, sia esso un libro o, come nel nostro caso, un sito, abbiamo fatto delle scelte e delle sintesi che, in quanto tali, sono sempre criticabili: volevamo parlare dell'opera ma anche dell'artista, di arte ma anche di un sogno… Speriamo di esserci riusciti: lo spirito è comunque quello del work in progress, quindi cambiamenti, aggiunte, trasformazioni saranno sempre possibili (e da molti senz'altro auspicate…).

 The idea of creating a website for Sandro Martini came about during a conversation with my friend Rita, his wife, in the course of a hot summer evening on a flight from Rome taking us, tired out, to Milan. We agreed on the idea and we thought we could try to do something to take Sandro on Internet: on one side we got Sandro and the Arts, on the other Marco and Internet After a couple of exploratory meetings between Sandro and Marco we began to work on the project: the idea was the creation of a site which would become a reference point for the art of Sandro Martini and, at the same time, a meeting place between Sandro and all those, collectors or simply the curious alike, interested in opening an dialogue with the artist. Aware of the impossibility of featuring a painter's work in one media, whether a book or in this case, a website, we had to make choices and syntheses which, as such, are always open to criticism: we wanted to talk about the work and also of the artist, of art but also of a dream… We trust that it has been successful: however the spirit of the venture is that of “work in progress” and therefore changes, additions, transformations will always be possible (and no doubt favoured by many…).
